Penny Celebrates!

Penny had another birthday and we were so lucky to have everyone together. Great day with lots of enjoyment with the grand kids. Everyone was a blast as we celebrated. Thanks to Elaine for the wonderfully prepared food. I guess thanks is supposed to go to Bryan for the cake? Anyway, the cup of coffee did the trick in the cake mix!

Christmas 2011

Another year has rolled around and the grand kids are getting bigger again–someone supposed to stop that? The great thing about celebrating Christmas on the eve is Penny and I have all day Christmas to unwind, enjoy each other’s company and reflect on all the great moments of joy we saw the day prior. Not a moment goes by where we don’t start out a conversation like, “Do you remember when (insert any name) opened the (insert any gift)?” What special times these are.

Oh and for the geeks out there that read this, a Nikon D200 with a Nikkor 50m 1.4 lens was used. Matrix metering in shutter priority. Two SB800s were remotely triggered at 1/4 power shooting at the ceiling. Both had 1/4 cut of CTO gel on them with dome diffusers. Shot in RAW and fixed in Lightroom 3.3.

Alting Wedding!

Holy Cow! I thought I posted these but I forgot and only did post processing. Sorry. Please enjoy.

To Infinity & Beyond

Everybody like Rockets…Right? Here’s a couple shots from several different outings with a couple of my grandchildren. Most of the rockets are the snap-together and ready to shoot.

October in Indiana

A weekend trip to Wakarusa, IN ended the autumn with a beautiful harvest day in 2011. It had been 30 days since my mom’s passing but yet we keep traveling north to visit with my dad who is truly alone for the first time in his life. It was with great pleasure that we arrived earlier than our expected time and got to be together and marvel at this magical little town. It is so easy to take for granted where we all grow up, start to become adults and learn valuable life lessons that shape and mold us. I once commented that Wakarusa was something Norman Rockwell could only envision. Yet again, I am reminded how true those words are.
